At OUC, we take BELIEVING, BELONGING, AND BECOMING seriously!
If you do too, give Rev. Molly a call (613.837.4321) and drop by for a friendly conversation about what Orleans United is all about. We strive to make sure that all who enter our doors feel part of our church family and will work hard to help you feel connected.
Once or twice a year, OUC offers our 3-part Believe.Belong.Become. seminar for people interested in exploring questions about their faith, about being part of a church community, and about what it means to live out our beliefs in our everyday lives. For some people, this journey will move them to become Members of the United Church. For all participants it will lead to a deeper connection with our congregation and with God. Those new to our congregation, those looking to meet others within our community, and those seeking to explore their faith are encouraged to attend. Registration can be done through the church office, orleansunited@rogers.com.
Believe.
To trust God, have confidence in God’s faithfulness, and rely on God’s goodness.
For Christians, Jesus encourages us to “believe” in the transforming love he shares with God. “What we believe” about Jesus is less influential than “how we believe” Jesus inspires us to live God’s love every day. At OUC, we take believing seriously.
Belong.
To live in meaningful relationship with other like-hearted people.
It really feels good to “belong” to a caring community, where people are excited to be together, are genuinely interested in each other, and are always looking out for one another. Add to that a shared belief in the transforming and unifying love of Christ, and that’s what connects us as a faith family. At OUC, we take belonging seriously.
Become.
To come into being; to grow into our true identity.
This is so much more than “becoming a member of the church.” Within our community of faith, ‘becoming’ has everything to do with the dynamic process of learning and growing together, encouraging each other to be actively involved in one’s own unique faith journey, and affirming how valuable everyone’s personal spiritual development is to our true identity as a church. At OUC, we take becoming seriously.
