Greetings, Everyone!
Attached is the information and application form for our Ottawa Presbytery Young Adult Global Partnership Visit to Zambia proposed for next May. Please would you pass this information and application along to anyone who you think might be interested and benefit from such an experience. For the purposes of this visit, “Young Adult” is defined as someone aged approximately 20 to 35, although there may be some slight flexibility in that depending on numbers of applicants. Also, I encourage you to have your congregation prayerfully consider how they can support this endeavour either by partnering with a young adult in your congregation to make this a reality or by financially and prayerfully supporting the trip as a whole and thereby lowering the cost for each participant.
As described in the attached information, the benefits of such a visit are many and on a variety of different levels:
Benefits Of a Young Adult Global Partnership Visit: Developing leadership skills in Young Adults; exposure to another context; faith in action; greater understanding of mission and what that means; faith exploration; learning about how to organize a partnership visit that responds to a request for our involvement; development of an understanding that mission is to/with all involved, and not one-sided. Benefits extend beyond individuals to our congregations and wider-church context as leaders within our United Church families are mentored.
I look forward to hearing back from you! Spaces are limited, so it important that applications be received as soon as possible. If there are any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
