Fundraising Campaign for Waterline Replacement

Orleans United Church needs your help!

We are raising money to replace the waterline between our building and the municipal watermain on Sugar Creek Way.

In August 2025, the waterline ruptured and the church was closed for 7 days while emergency repair work was carried out. Considerable corrosion was seen on the iron pipe that supplies water to the church.

We learned that the pipe that was used in Ottawa at the time that the church was built was of a lower quality compared to pipe that is used today. Future ruptures are almost guaranteed unless the waterline is replaced.

As of April 19, 2026, we have raised $66,036 in donations and pledges towards our goal of $100,000 which is the estimated cost of replacing the waterline.

Here are the ways you can donate to this initiative:

  • By e-transfer to oucdonations@rogers.com and include “Waterline Replacement Project” plus your name and email or postal address so we can provide a tax receipt
  • By credit or debit card by using our online app and include “Waterline Replacement Project” in the Regarding/Invoice # part of the payment form
  • By donating through Canada Helps
  • By sending a cheque to Orleans United Church, 1111 Orleans Boulevard, Orleans ON K1C 7C8 and including “Waterline Replacement Project” somewhere on the cheque.

Thank you so much for your generosity and support!
